Job summary

Ottumwa Regional Health Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for our float pool. This PRN position covers 12-hour shifts and supports acute and Medical/Surgical units as needed.

You will perform nursing care under supervision of the department Director and RN, collect data, assist with plan of care, administer medications when appropriate, document care, and ensure patient comfort and safety. BLS required; Iowa LPN license or compact state preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an LPN license in Iowa or a Compact State.
• BLS certification required.
• Preferred: 1 year med/surg experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to acutely ill patients under supervision of RN and department leadership.
• Perform plan of care interventions, wound care, and medication administration as allowed.
• Document care provided and monitor patient status and responses.
• Assist patients with daily living activities and ensure safety.
• Communicate patient needs to RN, physician, and family.
