Job summary

Cayuga Health is seeking a CHESS Nursing Assistant for a Float Pool role at Cayuga Medical Center (Ithaca, NY) and affiliated sites. You will develop competency across Med/Surg, ICU, OB, and SNF settings, with opportunities for growth and additional compensation as competencies are achieved.

The role requires CNAs with NYS certification, BLS, and acute care experience. Schedule varies with locations and may include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Current NYS CNA certification at hire or within 6 months.
• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience at Cayuga Medical Center.
• Ability to work across multiple patient care environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide flexible nursing assistant support across multiple clinical areas.
• Obtain and document vital signs and intake/output; notify RN of changes.
• Perform approved technical functions (phlebotomy, ECG, telemetry, AvaSure).
• Reinforce patient care and safety instructions while maintaining CHESS competencies.
