Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Float Pool CNA for Providence Medical Center– Kansas City, KS.

This on-site full-time role covers night shifts (7:00pm–7:00am) across Medical-Surgical and Telemetry units, assisting nurses and caring for adults on heart monitors.

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification required at hire.
• BLS (AHA) certification within 30 days of hire.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care including ADLs.
• Monitor vital signs and document findings.
• Assist with mobility and transfers as needed.
• Maintain telemetry equipment and relay alarms to nurses.
• Observe for changes and promptly notify staff.

Location:Providence Medical Center– Kansas City, KS

We are seeking aFloat Pool CNA, also referred to asa Med-Surg Tele CNA. TheFloat Pool CNAassistnurses by providing basic patient care,monitoringvital signs, supporting mobility, and ensuring patient safety for adults recovering from surgeries or illnesses while on heart monitors.Float Pool CNA’splay a critical role inobservingpatients, reporting changes, andmaintaininga safe, supportive environment to promote recovery.

Responsibilities

• Basic patient care:help patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) like bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating
• Vital signs monitoring:take and record blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation
• Mobilityassistance:help patients get in and out of bed, walk, or use assistive devices.
• EKG lead maintenance:ensure telemetry monitors (heart monitors) are properly connected and functioning — though Certified NursingAssistant’s(CNA’s)don'tusually interpret heart rhythms, they might recognize when alarms go off andimmediatelyalert registered nurses
• Observation:monitor patients for any physical changes (shortness of breath, chest pain, altered mental status) and quickly notifying the nursing staff

Qualifications

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate upon hire
• Current BLS (AHA) within 30 days of hire and maintain current
• Possesses knowledge of Medical Terminology
• Minimum six months previous experience in an acute care hospital or physician’s office preferred

Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):

• Current Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current
