Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist as mandated by State Practice Act.
• Apply training and education to assist the Physical Therapist in carrying out the prescribed treatment program.
• Implement high-quality physical therapy services for patients, caregivers, and facilities in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Develop treatment plans, supervise assistants and aides, contribute to case management, and deliver quality patient care.
• Maintain a positive level of interaction with facilities and clients, enhancing and expanding client relations.

Responsibilities & Duties

• Provide patient care under the direction and supervision of a licensed physical therapist as mandated by State Practice Act.
• Apply training and education to assist the Physical Therapist in carrying out the prescribed treatment program.
• Implement high‑quality physical therapy services for patients, caregivers, and facilities in accordance with the principles and practices of physical therapy and Select Medical policies and procedures.
• Develop treatment plans, supervise assistants and aides, contribute to case management, and deliver quality patient care.
• Maintain a positive level of interaction with facilities and clients, enhancing and expanding client relations.

Required Credentials

• Valid state license, registration, or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant upon graduation from an approved curriculum and having passed the national examination certified by CAPTE.
• License or certification must be valid in the state of practice.
• Cardio‑Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift patients using biomedical techniques, including lifting up to 50 pounds alone.
• Ability to walk, bend, stand, and reach continuously during a work day or shift.
• Visual acuity (near and distant) sufficient to maintain accurate records and recognize people.
• Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand and give directions.
• Ability to push wheeled equipment throughout the facility.
• Fine motor skills adequate for scheduling and preparing patients, equipment, and supplies for treatment.
• Ability to participate in sustained activities for many hours in accordance with state labor laws.
