Job summary

Labcorp seeks a Float Phlebotomist to join our team serving East Nassau and West Suffolk County, NY. This 24-hour week position involves phlebotomy across sites, collecting specimens, data entry, and delivering high-quality patient service.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, phlebotomy certification or equivalent training, and strong communication and customer service skills. A valid driver's license and ability to travel are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist.
• Preferred: 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience.
• Phlebotomy certification/training must come from an accredited agency.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Able to pass a color vision test, valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups.
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc.
• Enter patient information accurately in systems.
• Process billing information and collect payments as necessary.
• Prepare specimens for testing and maintain logs for patient and specimen data.
• Travel to additional sites as needed.
