Qualifications

• Valid phlebotomy certification for the state where employed.
• Minimum of 6 months’ experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, and updating patient information.
• Explain venipuncture and specimen collection methods.
• Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Ensure accurate matching of orders and specimen tubes.
• Package specimens for transport and store according to required temperature.
