Job summary

Pride Health is seeking a Float Phlebotomist to support our client's healthcare facility in Monroe, NY. This local contract position requires reliable blood collection, specimen labeling, and adherence to safety protocols.

Schedule: Mon-Thu 8:00am-5:30pm, Fri 8:00am-1:00pm. Pay rate is $23.40 per hour, with mileage reimbursement where applicable. Experience with venipuncture, specimen handling, and documentation is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3–5 years phlebotomy experience required.
• Experience with blood draws, labeling, and specimen handling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, and document maintenance data.
• Collect and store specimens following established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture steps clearly and courteously to patients.
• Demonstrate techniques with straight and butterfly needles.
• Verify orders and match requisitions to specimen tubes.
• Package specimens for transport and ensure correct labeling.
• Store specimens at required temperatures.

Job Details

• Job Type: Local contract
• Contract Length: 3 Months+
• Pay Range: $23.40 hour*
• Mileage Reimbursement Rate (if applicable): will be reimbursed according to the state laws

*Pay offered is based on experience, expertise, credentialing, and education.

Responsibilities

• Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.
• Collects and stores specimens in accordance with established procedures.
• Properly explain in a clear but courteous manner the process of the venipuncture (blood drawing) and or other specimen collection (ex. urine or fecal) as required.
• Demonstrate technique/s using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
• Fully understand all of the physicians' orders. Matches laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check all test requisitions or computer labels against the script to ensure 100% correctness.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Stores specimens at the required temperature and places them.

Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A minimum of 3-5 yr. of phlebotomy experience is required.
