Job summary

City of Hope seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for Float Per Diem assignments. The role requires flexibility to cover shifts across clinical areas, with cross-trained staff for census fluctuations and emergency coverage.

The successful candidate will perform telemetry interpretation, monitor invasive and noninvasive devices, and provide care for critically ill patients, including ventilated individuals, under strict safety protocols.

Qualifications

• One-year current hospital nursing as RN in Critical Care, ED, SDS/PACU, or Inpatient Stem Cell Transplant Unit
• Telemetry competency and ability to interpret cardiac rhythms
• State of Illinois RN license and active certifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain competencies and cross-trained staffing for census fluctuations
• Interpret and operate monitors, recognize rhythms, and intervene
• Attend in-house codes and rapid response as required
• Care for patients with complex needs including ventilated patients
• Initiate and maintain IV therapy and arterial lines
• Safe use of life-supporting modalities
