Job summary

Mercyhealth in the United States is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to support physicians, room patients, collect assessment data, and prepare patients for examinations in a busy clinic.

You will assist with laboratory procedures, injections, phlebotomy, and triage, manage scheduling and reminders, register patients, handle referrals and payments, and maintain patient charts and supplies; CPR/BLS certification is required within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a medical assistant program ABHES or CAAHEP or accredited postsecondary program.
• Experience in clinic setting preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days.
• Injection, specimen collection and phlebotomy training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients, collects assessment data and prepares patient for examinations.
• Assists physicians in examination, treatment and clinic procedures.
• Answers calls, directs callers or initiates triage slips.
• Schedules appointments and manages scheduling in the electronic system.
• Registers patients and verifies/updates records in the chart.
• Coordinate referrals and collect payments; maintain patient charts and supplies.
• Overtime may be required during peak periods.
