Job summary

Upperline Health, Inc. seeks a Float Medical Assistant to support physicians in podiatry and orthopedic clinics. The role covers Valdosta, Fitzgerald, Douglas, and Waycross as needed and entails clinical and administrative tasks in a team-based setting.

The ideal candidate has MA experience, strong computer skills, and familiarity with EMR systems such as athenahealth. X-ray experience and willingness to travel between nearby clinics are a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience as Medical Assistant is required; MA Certification is a plus.
• Podiatry or Orthopedic clinic experience preferred
• X-ray experience is a plus
• Excellent computer skills and strong knowledge of medical terminology
• Experience working in an EMR – athenahealth preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Place patients in exam rooms and prepare them for physician visits
• Complete exam intake and review medical history
• Ensure accurate charting for the physician
• Assist in exam room and take/develop X-rays as needed
• Stock exam rooms and dispose of trash
• Clean and sterilize exam and X-ray rooms daily
• Sterilize instruments
• Support quality measures and audits
• Travel to surrounding area clinics for support
• Coordinate care with Nurse Practitioners and Care Navigators
