Applicants should hold a Medical Assistant qualification with CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NHA certification and be willing to learn, with experience in phlebotomy and prior authorizations preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduation from a Medical Assistant program preferred.
• Current certification in medical assisting (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, CMAC, or NHA) preferred.
• Knowledge of OSHA, CLIA, and ADA required.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding required.
• TB validated or validation obtained within 6 months of hire preferred.
• Knowledge of Business Unit Quality Programs and Meaningful Use within 6 months of hire.
• Knowledge of standard clinical procedures and medical terminology.
• Ability to master basic math and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and support providers during clinic visits
• Manage patient messages, paperwork, and prior authorizations
• Assist with both clinical and administrative duties
• Rooming patients and completing intake
• Assisting providers with patient care
• Documenting in Cerner
• Phlebotomy and point-of-care testing
• Managing patient messages
• Processing prior authorizations
• Scanning and maintaining medical records
• Preparing exam rooms and supporting clinic workflow
