Job summary

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of customer service experience.
• Experience with registration, appointment scheduling & insurance verification.
• Knowledge of third-party payors including federal, state and private health plans.
• Proficient computer skills and able to work between multiple systems during calls.
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
• Ability to work in an interactive environment with strong customer service.
• Strong organizational skills to set priorities and handle deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service, registration, appointment scheduling and insurance verification.
• Answer multi-line incoming calls and perform online registrations.
• Verify insurance eligibility for outpatient services across third‑party payers.
• Use EPIC to input and retrieve information and relay messages to patients and staff.
• Inform patients about clinic deposit requirements per UCSD policy.
• Assist with ambulatory front desk and call center duties as needed.
