United Future is seeking a Phlebotomist for a float position covering Castleton, Delmar, Catskill, Schenectady, Cobleskill, Latham, Amsterdam, Valatie, Albany, and Guilderland. Schedule is Monday-Friday, with early start as 6:30am and end by 5:30pm (8 hours per shift).

The assignment is a 3-month contract with potential for permanent placement. Responsibilities include performing blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with lab procedures and

Competenze

Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state where you will be employed as required in some states.
Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast paced lab or hospital setting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
High School Diploma or GED

Mansioni

Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information.
Collects and stores specimens according to established procedures.
Properly explains the venipuncture process clearly and courteously.
Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles; match orders to requisitions.
Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
Package specimens for transport and store according to protocol.
Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations; attend annual trainings.
Answer telephone calls and relay laboratory results as needed.
