CareerNerds, LLC is seeking a Phlebotomist for a contract position covering multiple Albany area locations, including Castleton, Delmar, Catskill, and more. Schedule is Monday–Friday with early start around 6:30am and late end near 5:30pm.

The role lasts approximately 3 months with potential to become permanent; benefits are available. The primary duties include performing blood draws, labeling and processing specimens, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring specimen integrity.

Qualifikationen

• Valid phlebotomy certification as required by the state where employed.
• Minimum of 6 months' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• High School Diploma or GED

Aufgaben

• Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, and record maintenance data.
• Collect and store specimens per established procedures.
• Explain venipuncture process clearly and courteously to patients as required.
• Demonstrate technique with straight and butterfly needles and verify physician orders.
• Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.
• Check test requisitions against scripts to ensure accuracy; prepare specimens for transport.
• Store specimens at required temperatures and ensure proper transport packaging.
• Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations and attend annual trainings.
• Answer telephone inquiries and relay laboratory results as needed.
