Job summary

Universal Logistics Holdings is seeking a CDL A yard switcher to join our Flint, MI area operations. The role offers hourly pay and night shifts, with active trailer movement and support for OTR drivers.

Be 21+ with a valid CDL A and have at least 6 months of tractor-trailer experience. Position requires attention to safety, adherence to DOT rules, and readiness to work the 10pm–6:30am shift, Monday through Friday.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid CDL A license.
• Minimum 6 months tractor-trailer experience.
• No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
• No DUI/OWI in the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers in and out of docks.
• Move trailers to and from separate yards.
• Comply with GM safety regulations.
• Active work requiring getting in and out of trucks to back in and out of dock doors.
• Assist OTR drivers.
• Check trailer numbers and seals against paperwork when moving between yards.
• Inspect trailers prior to moving for DOT safety concerns and report concerns to Leads.

Basic job duties include but not limited to:

• Moving trailers in and out of docks
• Moving trailers to and from separate yards
• Complying with all GM safety regulations
• Position is very active as the switchers are getting in and out of the trucks all day long to open and close doors when backing in and out of dock doors.
• Assisting OTR drivers
• Checking trailer numbers and seals against paperwork when moving between yards
• Inspecting trailers prior to moving them for DOT cert and general safety concerns report upward to Leads and security

What We Require:

• At least 21 years old with valid CDL A
• 6 MONTHS TRACTOR TRAILER EXPERIENCE NEEDED!
• No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years
• No more than 2 preventable accident in the last 3 years
• No DUI/OWI in the last 5 years
