Job summary

Universal Logistics Holdings is hiring a CDL A Yard Switcher in Flint, MI. The role involves moving trailers in and out of docks, assisting other drivers, and ensuring safety compliance on a fast-paced shift.

The position runs 3rd shift, 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM, Monday through Friday, with benefits after 90 days including BCBS medical, dental, vision, paid holidays, vacation, personal time, and a 401K. Candidates must be 21+, have CDL A, and meet experience requirements.

Qualifications

• At least 21 years old with valid CDL A.
• 6 months tractor-trailer experience required.
• No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
• No more than 2 preventable accidents in the last 3 years.
• No DUI/OWI in the last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers in and out of docks.
• Move trailers to and from separate yards.
• Comply with all GM safety regulations.
• Assist OTR drivers as needed.
• Check trailer numbers and seals against paperwork.
• Inspect trailers prior to moving for DOT cert and safety concerns.

$24.00/Hour

3rd Shift 10pm-6:30am

Basic job duties include but not limited to:

• Moving trailers in and out of docks
• Moving trailers to and from separate yards
• Complying with all GM safety regulations
• Position is very active as the switchers are getting in and out of the trucks all day long to open and close doors when backing in and out of dock doors.
• Assisting OTR drivers
• Checking trailer numbers and seals against paperwork when moving between yards
• Inspecting trailers prior to moving them for DOT cert and general safety concerns report upward to Leads and security

What We Require:

• At least 21 years old with valid CDL A
