Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a System Test Engineer I to help integrate and validate Hivemind Mission Autonomy across unmanned aircraft systems. You will work with cross‑functional teams to plan, execute, and document system‑level tests in simulation, lab, and flight environments.

This early‑career role emphasizes hands‑on testing, data collection, analysis, and collaboration with software, autonomy, hardware, and program teams to ensure readiness for customer and partner activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or equivalent practical experience.
• Foundational experience with engineering test, integration, troubleshooting, or verification activities.
• Familiarity with requirements, verification, validation, test procedures, configuration management, defect tracking, and documentation.
• Interest in autonomous systems, robotics, UAS, flight-test operations, simulation, embedded systems, or software-hardware integration.
• Familiarity with Linux/Windows, command-line tools, networking basics, and scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, C++, etc.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work in fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support test planning and execution for unmanned platforms integration.
• Define test objectives, acceptance criteria, verification methods, and test schedules.
• Develop, execute, and maintain system-level test procedures, test cases, checklists, and test configurations.
• Set up and troubleshoot SIL/HIL, simulation, laboratory, and automated test environments.
• Install, configure, and verify test hardware, networks, sensors, and ground-control equipment.
• Collect and organize test data, telemetry, logs, and evidence to evaluate behavior.
• Analyze results, document defects, and support root-cause investigations.
• Contribute to performance metrics, test reports, dashboards, and readiness materials.
• Maintain test infrastructure and automation; follow safety and configuration-management procedures.
• Travel to internal sites and customer locations as needed.
