Job summary

Shield AI in San Diego is seeking an early-career System Test Engineer I to support the integration, verification, and validation of Hivemind Mission Autonomy across unmanned aircraft systems and mission configurations.

Under the guidance of senior engineers, you will help develop test procedures, execute tests in SITL/HIL environments, collect telemetry, document defects, and collaborate with software, autonomy, hardware, and platform teams to enable flight-test readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in a STEM field.
• Foundational experience with engineering test, integration, verification, or troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with test concepts, requirements, and documentation.
• Interest in autonomous systems, robotics, or unmanned aircraft.
• Familiarity with Linux, Windows, and scripting languages like Python or Bash.

Responsibilities

• Support test planning and execution for integration of Hivemind capabilities onto unmanned platforms.
• Assist with defining test objectives, acceptance criteria, verification methods, and schedules.
• Help develop and maintain system-level test procedures, cases, and configurations.
• Support setup and operation of SIL, HIL, simulation, and flight-test environments.
• Collect and organize test data, telemetry, logs, and evidence for evaluation.
• Document defects and support root-cause investigations with cross-functional teams.
