Job summary

Archer in Salinas, California is seeking a Flight Test Safety Program Manager to own the Flight Test Safety Management System and lead hazard/risk processes across all test activities. You will challenge unsafe test activity and drive a proactive safety culture with clear authority to stop unsafe testing.

Responsibilities include leading SRM, coordinating with Flight Test, Flight Safety, Certification, and EHS, developing safety metrics, and guiding investigations and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 5 years of aviation safety experience or formal aviation safety training.
• Knowledge of safety investigation techniques and root cause analysis.
• Strong risk assessment, audits, and continuous improvement understanding.
• Clear written and verbal communication to technical and non‑technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Identify hazards across flight test operations and maintain Hazard Log.
• Lead Safety Risk Management (SRM) for flight test activities and risk assessments.
• Participate in flight test planning, safety reviews, and test readiness reviews.
• Develop and maintain FT-SMS aligned with enterprise SMS and regulatory guidance.
• Define safety performance indicators and present trends to leadership.
• Manage safety reporting channels and ensure timely closure of actions.
• Coordinate with safety, certification, engineering, and EHS for risk tolerance and safety decisions.
