Job summary

Joby Aviation seeks a Flight Test Aircraft Maintenance professional to support maintenance, inspections, and ground operations on our experimental flight test fleet. You will work closely with engineering and flight operations to ensure airworthiness and safety in a dynamic test environment, reporting to the Maintenance Base Manager.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on maintenance and inspections on aircraft.
• Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and schematics.
• Valid FAA A&P certificate.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willingness to travel ~50% domestically and internationally.
• Passport with no travel restrictions.
• Read, write and speak English proficiently.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on experimental flight test aircraft.
• Conduct detailed pre-flight, post-flight, and periodic inspections for safety and readiness.
• Remove and replace advanced airframe, powerplant, and high‑voltage components.
• Conduct launch and recovery operations, including ground handling and as ground observer.
• Participate in Acceptance Test Procedures per company guidelines.
• Maintain maintenance logs and documentation per FAA and company procedures.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and operate ground support equipment.
• Provide feedback to engineering to improve manuals and docs.
• Work safely following established operating procedures and aviation regulations.
