Job summary

Joby is seeking an experienced Base Maintenance Supervisor to lead the maintenance team for the JAI30 experimental flight test program in Arizona and beyond. You will ensure airworthiness, supervise scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and coordinate with project managers to keep flight test operations on schedule.

The role requires strong electrical/mechanical expertise, ability to read engineering drawings, travel up to 50%, and a safety-first mindset in a dynamic test environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and two+ years of mechanical and electrical experience.
• Valid FAA A&P certificate.
• 5+ years of aircraft maintenance and inspection experience.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
• Proficiency with hand tools and precision measuring equipment.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required (50%).

Responsibilities

• Maintain airworthiness and approve returns-to-service during flight test operations.
• Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the JAI30 aircraft.
• Inspect aircraft per company procedures and manuals.
• Travel domestically and internationally to support flight test programs.
• Replace airframe, powerplant, and electrical components as needed.
• Document work per FAA and company procedures.
• Support launch/recovery, ground ops, and post-flight activities.
• Participate in ATPs and help develop maintenance manuals.
• Maintain and operate ground support equipment.
• Safely observe all laws and internal procedures.
• Work independently and on a team; extend hours as required.
