Job summary

SpaceX in Texas is seeking a Test Engineer (Dragon) to join the Development Test team. You will develop and execute engine and component tests, own test campaigns, and guide technicians in fabricating test articles and stand equipment.

You will develop procedures, run data acquisition and control systems, and troubleshoot instrumentation and hydraulics while collaborating with design engineers to enhance flight hardware performance and safety.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, electrical engineering or related field.
  • 1+ years hands-on with mechanical, propulsion, or test operations.
  • Experience with hazardous/high-pressure systems desired.
  • Ability to read manuals and schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute tests at the engine and component level to evaluate hardware performance and survivability.
  • Own a test campaign from plan to data review and stand equipment design.
  • Guide technicians in fabricating test articles and equipment.
  • Develop and maintain test procedures, sequences, and software.
  • Operate DAQ and control systems and troubleshoot.
  • Work with cryogenics and hypergolic fluids safely.
  • Automate tests to increase efficiency while maintaining safety.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to resolve anomalies.
