Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Test Engineer for Dragon, focusing on post-flight processing and refurbishment of crew and cargo Dragon hardware. You will implement test procedures, develop in-house test solutions, and act as a Dragon vehicle controller during tests.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in physics, electrical, software, mechanical engineering or related field.
  • 1+ years of hardware development, vehicle integration, refurbishment, manufacturing, pressurized systems, or operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute procedures for integrated testing of Dragon flight hardware and subsystems.
  • Develop test solutions for in-house hardware that will fly to space.
  • Act as Dragon vehicle controller and test conductor during integrated system tests.
  • Evaluate requirements and work scope for refurbishment campaigns; assess change, risk and as-built conditions.
  • Design and implement integration processes for ownership areas.
  • Manage multiple ground support equipment and facility improvements with ROI focus.
  • Develop tools (hardware/software) to enable and optimize test operations.
  • Work with SpaceX software to automate test processing, requirements mgmt, campaign mgmt and data reviews.
  • Collaborate with engineers to resolve problems and improve testing tools and processes.
  • Troubleshoot vehicle or GSE failures to root cause and write disposition and follow-up plan.
