Job summary

Bombardier Learjet Inc in Wichita, KS, seeks a Flight Test Engineer Intern for Summer 2027 to support testing and certification of advanced business aircraft. You will work with Test Pilots and cross-functional teams to perform tests, collect data, and ensure mission success.

The role requires pursuing a Bachelor's degree in engineering, strong communication and leadership skills, and the ability to operate in a dynamic, hands-on testing environment onsite.

Qualifications

• Must be working towards a Bachelor's Degree or higher in an engineering discipline.
• Training will be provided prior to participation in on-aircraft ground and flight testing under supervision of a permanent employee.
• Previous flying experience is a strong asset but not essential.
• Strong leadership and communication skills are an asset.
• Ability to prioritize and absorb large quantities of data and information.
• Experience with IT tools and programming for automation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with test planning, readiness, execution and reporting.
• Fly onboard experimental aircraft as a crewmember after training.
• Operate cabin test provisions and instrumentation, record results.
• Coordinate testing activities with other disciplines.
• Document tests, generate plans, and post-flight reports.
• Coordinate test aircraft and equipment configurations for testing.
• Design and develop safety-critical real-time data displays.
• Follow safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
