Job summary

Garmin International is seeking a Senior Flight Test Engineer for its Salem, OR location. You will provide technical leadership in planning and executing ground and flight tests, analyze data in real time, and modify parameters to meet demanding test programs.

You may serve as Test Director or Flight Test Lead on complex projects. Responsibilities include drafting test plans, configuring test aircraft, and collaborating with engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
• Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication; solid understanding of certification processes.

Responsibilities

• Drafts ground and flight test plans and reports for complex programs.
• Coordinates and executes complex flight tests, including acting as test director.
• Defines and maintains test aircraft configurations and coordinates with engineering teams.
• Operates flight test tools, analyzes data in real time, and modifies test parameters as needed.
• Mentors junior flight test engineers (Flight Test Engineer 1 & 2).
• Works with certification authorities to resolve certification issues.
• Develops new procedures and contributes to safety during testing.
