Job summary

APT Research, a Flight Termination Systems-focused engineering firm, seeks a seasoned Electrical Engineer for the Range Safety Operations Division at Wallops Flight Facility. The candidate will review designs, test, and certify FTS hardware and electronics meeting stringent regulatory and mission requirements, supporting NASA and related programs.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in aerospace/defense electronics with FTS or safety-critical systems, strong RF knowledge, and familiarity with NASA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.
• At least five years in aerospace or defense electronics with FTS or safety-critical systems.
• Experience with FTS and safety-critical systems for rockets.
• Strong knowledge of RF systems, command destruct receivers, high-reliability circuit design.
• Familiarity with NASA, MIL-STD, and FAA range safety requirements.
• Hands-on environmental testing (thermal, vibration, EMI/EMC).
• Ability to work in cross-disciplinary teams.
• Security clearance may be required.
