Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Colorado is seeking a Software Systems Test Engineer to bridge software development and mission readiness for flight vehicles. You will design and execute comprehensive test cases, verify matrices, and qualify software on hardware-in-the-loop systems.

You will guide teams through integrated software/hardware challenges, drive Agile program execution, and mentor engineers while delivering milestones in dynamic mission environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in software testing, systems integration, or software development.
• Proficiency in writing and maintaining automation scripts using Python or C++.
• Hands-on experience creating test plans, defining test cases, and developing testing matrices from engineering requirements.
• Comfortable operating within Agile Scrum development environments.
• Active Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate across software teams to define, document, and review comprehensive system test cases.
• Verify the V&V matrix to map flight software requirements to test procedures.
• Qualify flight software using automated qualification test suites on Hardware-in-the-Loop simulators.
• Leverage test frameworks to write and upgrade automated test scripts in Python or other scripting tools.
• Isolate, reproduce, and log complex system-level bugs with developers to identify root causes.
• Analyze telemetry data to verify vehicle performance during tests and simulations.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines by integrating automated test suites into builds.
• Prepare formal test plans, verification reports, and safety-critical compliance artifacts for flight readiness reviews.
