Job summary

Lockheed Martin Space in Littleton, CO, is seeking a seasoned software engineering leader to guide a team focused on spacecraft integration, verification, automated testing, data acquisition, and test equipment control. You will provide technical and people leadership to drive mission success.

Responsibilities include mentoring engineers, prioritizing work, and ensuring adherence to standards across the development lifecycle while engaging with stakeholders and supporting proposals and cost

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of professional experience in software development, integration, or test across the full software development lifecycle.
• Experience with Agile or Scrum software development methodologies.
• Experience supporting software integration and system-level testing in complex environments.
• Demonstrated project or team leadership experience with responsibility for technical, schedule, and cost performance.
• U.S. Citizenship required due to work location.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers, including staffing, onboarding, performance management, and career development.
• Assign and prioritize work in alignment with program objectives, Agile sprint planning, and team capacity.
• Provide technical leadership for software design, development, integration, and test supporting spacecraft subsystems.
• Guide resolution of complex software and system integration issues across hardware-software interfaces.
• Ensure adherence to software engineering standards, processes, and practices throughout the development lifecycle.
• Lead execution to meet cost, schedule, and technical performance objectives across software deliverables.
• Communicate program status, technical risks, and issues to program, functional, and senior leadership, including customer-facing communication when required.
• Support proposal development, resource planning, and cost estimation activities.
• Drive continuous improvement in software development processes, tools, and automation.
