Job summary

Katalyst Space is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to advance flight software on real-time systems and spacecraft hardware interfaces. You will work on software that interacts with subsystems using UART, TCP/IP, and CAN within a demanding, flight-tested environment.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of software development experience, including embedded or real-time systems.
• High proficiency in C/C++ for embedded platforms.
• Experience with RTOS and embedded Linux environments.
• Experience with flight software for spacecraft or autonomous systems.

Responsibilities

• Support spacecraft flight test by executing fault detection test campaigns and related tests.
• Build understanding of rendezvous, capture, and pose estimation software; assist in HITL testbed integration.
• Develop and maintain software interfaces to spacecraft hardware subsystems using UART, TCP/IP, CAN.
• Document hardware interface APIs for internal/external users; emphasize reliability features.
• Review and contribute to code and subsystem design reviews with engineering teams.
