Varda Space Industries in El Segundo, CA, is seeking a Firmware Engineer for the Flight Software team. You will determine spacecraft behavior, build reliable firmware, and support all development phases from requirements to flight operations.

You will write bare metal, RTOS, or Linux based embedded software in C++, own project scopes, and ensure system quality through V&V techniques. Ideal candidate has BS in a technical field and 3+ years in safety-critical aerospace software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in development of spacecraft or safety-critical software.
• Experience with real-time embedded hardware/software systems.
• Proficiency in C++ and software design principles.

Responsibilities

• Develop reliable firmware to control spacecraft, satellite bus, and reentry capsule through the mission life cycle.
• Own all aspects of software development from design to testing and integration.
• Scope projects with requirements capture and design trades.
• Write structured bare metal, RTOS, or Linux based software for embedded processors in C++.
• Build reliable, high-availability software systems and support verification/validation.
