Job summary

Relativity Space, Inc. is seeking a Materials Engineer to own materials and processing disciplines for reusable Terran-R products.

You will qualify materials for flight and reuse, develop technical specifications, and drive data-driven process improvements. The role collaborates with materials engineering, laboratories, design, manufacturing, and leadership to solve complex challenges and accelerate production rate and reuse capability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in materials science or engineering required.
• 1+ years of relevant materials engineering experience.
• Experience with material selection, qualification, damage tolerance, inspections, risk assessments, and failure analysis.
• Commitment to accountability, collaboration, and execution.

Responsibilities

• Be the M&P owner of reusable Terran-R products, engineering disciplines, and materials.
• Qualify materials and products for flight and reuse.
• Develop, implement, and maintain technical specifications and standards.
• Lead statistically-driven experimental design and process improvement campaigns.
• Collaborate with materials engineering staff, lab personnel, design and manufacturing engineers, and leadership.
