Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA, seeks a Senior Materials & Processes Engineer focused on adhesives and sealants to own the M&P discipline for Terran-R. You will develop specs, run qualification campaigns, and drive data-driven improvements across design, manufacturing, and operations.

You bring 5+ years in M&P, work with materials engineers, lab staff, and manufacturing to ensure performance, reliability, and cost targets as Terran-R scales.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in materials science or engineering.
• 5+ years of experience relevant to M&P competencies.
• Experience with formulation, material selection, process development, qualification, damage tolerance, inspections, risk assessments, and failure analysis.

Responsibilities

• Be the M&P discipline expert for all Terran-R adhesives & sealants.
• Own adhesive & sealant interaction in sensitive Terran-R environments (payload, avionics, etc.).
• Identify qualification envelopes, design test plans, run characterization campaigns, and analyze data for flight qualification.
• Develop, implement, and maintain technical specifications and engineering standards.
• Drive statistically-driven experimental design and process improvement campaigns.
• Interface with materials engineers, lab staff, responsible engineers, manufacturing and TPS teams, build reliability and supply chain to ensure compliance and reliability.
