Job summary

Relativity Space in Long Beach, CA is seeking a Senior Materials & Processes Engineer focused on Thermal Protection Systems and non-metallic soft goods to enable Terran-R flight and reuse. You will own material qualification, testing plans, and specifications, ensuring performance, reliability, and cost targets.

You’ll collaborate across Materials, NDE, Manufacturing, and TPS teams to design, characterize, and optimize processes, drive data-driven improvements, and shape the roadmap for reusable

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in materials science or engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in materials science or engineering roles.
• Strong collaboration and execution skills.

Responsibilities

• Be the cognizant M&P engineer of thermal protection systems and non-metallic softgoods for Terran-R flight and reuse.
• Identify qualification envelopes, form test plans, execute characterization campaigns, and analyze data for flight qualification and usage.
• Develop, implement, and maintain technical specifications and engineering standards; drive experimental design and process improvement.
