Job summary

University of Mississippi Medical Center's AirCare program seeks a Flight Paramedic I to provide critical care during air or ground transports. The role requires high school diploma or GED, three years paramedic experience, and active national/state certifications.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, monitoring, medication guidance, equipment readiness, and collaboration with hospital teams. The position may be full-time or part-time with on-site shifts at Jackson, MS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and three years of paramedic experience.
• Possess Paramedic certification from NASEMT and MD Health post-hire within 2 weeks.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS; FEMA ICS 100/700; BTLS/ITLS/PHTLS or PHTLS preferred; NRP post-hire within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and provide care for patients during air or ground transport.
• Monitor patients and respond to adverse reactions to medications or treatments.
• Ensure proper functioning, inventory, sterilization, and cleaning of transport equipment.
• Assist in precepting and orienting colleagues and healthcare students.
• Maintain regulatory compliance and documentation for transported patients.
