Job summary

Allegheny Health Network Lifeflight seeks experienced flight paramedics to render advanced emergency medical care during transports. You will work with an RN partner and medical control in a rotating 36-hour weekly schedule across regional LifeFlight bases.

Responsibilities include providing critical care, coordinating with teams, ensuring safe transport, and contributing to quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 5 years full-time paramedic experience in a high-demand EMS setting.
• PA Paramedic license or EMS Compact Privilege to practice in Pennsylvania.
• PHTLS or ITLS certification.
• Prior flight experience preferred.
• ACLS certification required.
• PALS certification required.
• CPR – American Heart Association certified.
• Act 34/33/73 background clearances.
• NRP within 1 year of hire.
• Flight Paramedic Certification within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide critical care life support and EMS care per standards and PA DOH rules.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to plan safe patient transport.
• Serve as LifeFlight ambassador with professional appearance and conduct.
• Ensure safe transport and maintain safety around aircraft and emergency vehicles.
• Participate in quality assurance activities and LEAN initiatives; complete trainings.
• Document in accordance with departmental and state regulatory standards.
• Maintain transport readiness by stocking medications and equipment.
• Complete additional duties as assigned.
• Meet pre-employment physical and height/weight requirements.
