Job summary

RTX is seeking a Product Owner and Technical Lead for Collins Aerospace in Cedar Rapids, IA, to drive FM&C development on military avionics programs. You will translate requirements into a structured backlog, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and lead bid efforts for program extensions.

You will own key design decisions as the lead engineer and oversee FM&C activities across assigned programs, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Good understanding of agile methodologies and their application to large-scale projects.
• Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM).
• Experience with Ada or C/C++ programming.
• Familiarity with Python scripting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the FM&C liaison to assigned programs, ensuring flight management systems align with schedule and requirements.
• Lead creation and maintenance of a comprehensive story backlog for all tasks.
• Collaborate across department agile teams to delegate tasks and track progress within budget.
• Own design decisions as the lead engineer on development scope.
• Oversee all FM&C efforts within assigned programs.
• Drive bids and proposals for modifications or extensions to secure future work.
• Ability to travel.
