Boston Public Schools seeks an exceptional School to Career Teacher - Flight Instruction with an SEI Endorsement to guide East Boston High School students toward aviation careers. The instructor will help design a CTE pathway from a one-course Introduction to Aviation to a multi-year sequence for students to advance toward a private pilot license.

Responsibilities include flight instruction, ground school, simulated training, and curriculum development in compliance with FAA regulations.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Aeronautical, or related field.
• Massachusetts teaching license with SEI endorsement or ESL certification.
• 5 years full-time experience in the field.
• Experience with modern flight simulators, training devices and aircraft.
• Previous experience as a commercial or airline pilot.
• Knowledge of FAA regulations and guidelines.
• Certified Flight Instructor license.
• Ability to conduct ground school.
• Current authorization to work in the United States.

Mansioni

• Teach Aviation Flight Instruction to high school students.
• Provide ground school instruction and simulator training.
• Teach maneuvers, takeoffs, landing navigation, and emergency procedures on the simulator.
• Construct curriculum for the course and develop a multi-year sequence.
• Deliver lectures on aerodynamics, FAA regulations, navigation, and systems.
• Supervise flight simulator sessions and provide feedback.
• Develop individualized flight training plans and maintain progress records.
• Prepare students for written, oral, and practical exams.
• Ensure safety procedures for flight simulator operations.
• Collaborate with East Boston High leadership to build the course sequence.
• Maintain yearly equipment lists and budget estimates for the elective.
• Ensure compliance with district and FAA policies and regulations.
• Coordinate curriculum needs and examinations with the FAA.
• Plan for future private flight school evaluation and selection.
• Set standards for student eligibility for flight components.

Formazione

Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Aeronautical, or related field

Massachusetts Teaching License with SEI endorsement or ESL certification

5 Years of full-time experience in the field

Certified Flight Instructor license
