Job summary

Northrop Grumman in San Diego, CA is seeking a Flight Inspector on 2nd shift for the Space Sector. You will inspect components to ensure conformity to GD&T standards, read blueprints, and document results in a fast-paced QA environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent with related experience, familiarity with AS9100/ISO 9001, and strong teamwork. Onsite work schedule is 1:00 pm–10:30 pm; 9/80 with every other Friday off.

Qualifications

• Requires High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years related education/experience.
• Proficiency with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.5.
• Experience inspecting tight tolerance machined components with complex geometry.
• Familiarity with aerospace standards (AS9100/ISO 9001).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Inspects purchased parts and materials for conformity to standards and processing requirements.
• Verifies specifications using PO, blueprints, drawings or inspection instructions.
• Maintains records of results and makes pass/fail decisions.
• Inspections may involve complex angles and 3D projections using inspection equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
