Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer, Aviation Integration (Starlink) to own flight hardware from cradle to grave for aircraft installations. You will design, qualify, and integrate Starlink components, coordinating with electrical teams to ensure high reliability.

Lead design reviews and certify components with FAA designees. Qualifications include a Bachelor’s in mechanical/aerospace engineering, CAD/FEA expertise, and GD&T proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or other STEM discipline.
• Master’s degree in engineering or related discipline is a plus.
• Experience with CAD and FEA software is required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and drive Starlink integration design packages from site survey through design, substantiation, and qualification.
• Own Starlink Aviation hardware from conceptual design through production and operation for aircraft installations.
• Perform design reviews and interact with FAA designees to certify components and systems.
• Generate production and integration drawings using GD&T and perform tolerance stack-up analyses.
• Drive design for manufacturability to reduce part count and improve production efficiency.
• Establish an efficient product lifecycle from supply chain through final integration.
