Job summary

Aerostar is seeking a motivated summer intern for Field Operations and Support in Sioux Falls. You will analyze surface weather and wind predictions and distribute reports, supporting engineering tests and troubleshooting platform health with the team.

Ideal candidates are STEM students or recent graduates, with flight/aviation exposure preferred, able to travel up to 40%, and proficient in Microsoft Office. This role emphasizes confidentiality and cross-team communication.

Qualifications

• College student or recent graduate in a STEM field.
• Prior aviation and/or military experience preferred.
• Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to work with a high level of confidentiality.
• Proficient with computers, including Microsoft Office.
• Travel up to 40% may be required.

Responsibilities

• Analyze surface weather and stratospheric wind predictions and distribute reports.
• Coordinate with FAA Understand FAA Regulation Part 101 for Unmanned Free Balloons.
• Monitor platform health, analyze data, and troubleshoot problems.
• Provide support for engineering tests.
• Complete summer end internship presentation.
