Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector invites you to bring your pioneering spirit to our teams in Dulles, VA. As a Flight Controller – Level 1 or 2, you’ll support the IceSat-2 mission, performing mission ops, telemetry monitoring, and procedure development in a 100% onsite role.

You’ll collaborate with systems engineers, handle testing with simulators, and prepare clear status reports for internal and external customers. 24/7 readiness is expected and a strong communication skillset is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a STEM field with strong communication skills.
• Willingness to support a 24/7 environment and work in a team.
• Ability to present persuasively to external customers at milestones.

Responsibilities

• Provide mission operations support to Satellite programs including flight control.
• Support system maintenance activities such as procedure updates and milestones.
• Work with systems engineers to conduct anomaly investigations as needed.
• Conduct testing using simulators and resolve discrepancies.
• Develop and test command procedures, telemetry pages, and other products from vendor docs.
• Monitor vehicle health across subsystems and perform telemetry trending.
• Track space vehicle configuration including hardware, software, and config item parameters.
• Modify existing ops procedures and develop new ones from lessons learned.
