Kaleidoscope Innovation is seeking a Human Factors Engineer for Flight Deck Design to conceptualize, design, evaluate, and certify cockpit interfaces across requirements capture, prototyping, simulation, analysis and usability testing. The role emphasizes cognitive ergonomics and collaboration with flight crews and regulatory environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science.
  • Degree in Cognitive Ergonomics, Psychology, Industrial Design or equivalent.
  • 10 years of experience in the Aerospace industry, with aircraft systems, flight operations and design standards.
  • Proficiency with computer-based tools and the ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Strong written and oral English; French is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, design, evaluate and certify Flight deck interfaces through requirements capture, prototyping, simulation, analysis and usability tests.
  • Deploy cognitive ergonomics to support design, tests and analysis of Human-Machine Interfaces.
  • Support requirements development, task analysis, and human error analysis.
  • Develop system Human Machine Interface (HMI) simulations and prototypes.
  • Create and manage documentation for Human Factors activities related to new aircraft, significant cockpit modifications and sustaining programs.
  • Elaborate and conduct User Centered Design activities related to Flight deck HMI.
  • Perform scenario-based Flight deck and User eXperience (UX) evaluation in line with Customer Flight deck philosophy.
  • Interact with Flight Crews to develop and assess overall cockpit physical and cognitive usability.
  • Support certification effort for 1302 and other Human Factors related regulations.
  • Interact with several programs / platforms.
