Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace is seeking a Human Factors/Scientist II to advance cockpit design and usability. You will work with cross‑functional teams on research, experiments, and validation to improve aerospace systems and flight decks.

Based in Phoenix, AZ with hybrid schedule, you’ll report to management and contribute to FAA-aligned safety and performance goals while supporting innovation and government contracts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Engineering, Software, or related field.
• 2+ years of R&D experience in aerospace or related tech environments.
• Proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and simulation tools to develop and validate aerospace technologies.
• Familiarity with aerospace industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Experience applying human factors research methods and statistical analyses in aviation or operational settings.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct human factors research and development activities aligned with Honeywell Aerospace goals.
• Design and conduct experiments and usability studies to evaluate aerospace system interfaces and controls.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and product managers to integrate human factors into product development.
• Design, test, and certify the look, feel, and operational behavior of the flight deck.
• Collaborate with pilots, designers, and systems engineers to ensure flight deck interfaces align with pilot capabilities.
• Identify new technologies to increase aviation safety and add value to products.
