Job summary

Joby Aviation seeks a highly organized Systems Test Technician to join the onsite Testing team at Marina, CA and Santa Cruz, CA. You will contribute to flight‑critical components and systems for VTOL electric aircraft, supporting verification and certification efforts with hands‑on construction and testing of electrical/mechanical assemblies.

The role requires collaboration with engineers, strict adherence to schematics, and experience with high voltage systems.

Qualifications

• Collaborative attitude and strong work ethic.
• Excellent problem‑solving techniques and analytical ability.
• Attention to detail, hands‑on attitude, and neat work habits in fabricating and assembling component/system level electro‑mechanical equipment with minimal supervision.
• Ability to consistently maintain a clean workspace and inventory of tools and equipment.
• Experience operating with High Voltage equipment.
• H.S Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of 6 years of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, maintain, and operate test rigs used to verify aircraft systems.
• Maintain test fixture design and handling documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering to test a wide array of systems including electric motors, bearings, electronics, and batteries.
• Follow electrical schematics and complete wiring tasks including crimping, harnesses, wiring panels, soldering, and component-to-board work.
