Job summary

RTX is seeking a Software Engineering Intern in Cedar Rapids, IA. This onsite role focuses on flight control software development, with hands-on work on autothrottle, autopilot, and flight guidance systems. You will review requirements, implement architectures, and test DO-178B/C compliant software under mentorship.

The position emphasizes C/C++ development, object-oriented design, MATLAB/Simulink integration, and collaboration with experienced engineers to advance avionics technologies.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or Advanced degree and enrolled through internship/co-op.
• Must have a minimum of 60 credit hours by start of internship/co-op.
• Experience developing in C++ and C.
• Experience with object oriented design.

Responsibilities

• Define and review software requirements for flight control systems, including interfaces.
• Develop and implement software architecture and design from parent requirements.
• Implement control algorithms and signal processing for flight control systems.
• Integrate hand-code with auto-generated code from MATLAB/Stateflow models.
• Conduct requirements-based testing of flight controls software.
