Boeing Commercial Airplanes in North Charleston, SC, seeks an Associate Flight Controls Mechanical Hydraulics Design & Analysis Engineer to join the 787 Flight Controls Mechanical Hydraulics Engineering team.

The Mechanical Systems Design and Analysis Engineer will support development of sub-teams and design, analyze, test, certify, and support flight control and mechanical hydraulic systems and components for the 787 family, collaborating across functions and ensuring schedule adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (with focus areas Mechanical, Civil, Aerospace, Aeronautical or Materials)
• 2+ years of related work experience
• 2+ years of professional experience in an engineering field
• 1+ years of experience with Mechanical Systems

Responsibilities

• Resolves airplane level requirements into system level requirements with validation methods.
• Creates system, component, and detail design documentation within schedule and cost constraints.
• Participates in system validation analysis and testing, including plan creation and test monitoring.
• Supports system certification efforts with artifacts like FMEA, FTA, and traceability to regulatory requirements.
• Assists in production support, addressing build problems and implementing design improvements.
• Provides SME consultation for fleet operations and SRP resolutions.
