Job summary

Heartland Veterinary Partners LLC is seeking a Veterinary Assistant to support veterinarians and technicians with patient care, examinations, and routine lab work. The role includes assisting with surgeries, taking histories and vital signs, and educating clients on care plans.

Candidates should have veterinary experience preferred, be able to lift up to 25 pounds, and work weekends as needed. Benefits include PTO and health coverage; compensation is hourly in the US.

Qualifications

• Experience in veterinary care preferred.
• Weekend availability as required.
• Able to lift up to 25 pounds and move equipment.
• Familiarity with PPE and basic safety procedures.
• Strong communication to ensure patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and technicians with patient care and treatment.
• Monitor hospitalized pets and prepare prescriptions.
• Take histories, vital signs, and weights during outpatient exams.
• Prepare patients for surgery and monitor vital signs during procedures.
• Obtain samples and perform in-house lab work; prepare specimens.
• Take and develop radiographs; maintain safety procedures.
• Ensure clean and organized exam rooms and labs.
