Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a part-time Utility Worker in Blacksburg to support kitchen and facility operations. You will maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization in food production and service areas, including cleaning equipment, surfaces, floors, and storage spaces.

You may be asked to transport supplies and assist with setup and breakdown tasks as needed. Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED, basic knowledge of sanitation and food safety, and are able to stand for long periods

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of sanitation procedures and basic food safety concepts.
• No related work experience required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Washes dishes by hand or in a machine.
• Cleans and sanitizes work tables, walls, refrigerators, and meat blocks.
• Sweeps, mops, cleans, and vacuums floors.
• Removes trash to designated areas.
• Cleans equipment with chemicals to meet sanitary standards.
• Re-stocks supplies like soap and cleaning materials.
• Walks or stands for extended periods and may lift up to 50 pounds.
