Job summary

Union County Community Action, Inc. is seeking Substitute Assistant Teachers to support Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms in Monroe, NC. This on‑demand, part‑time role offers a daily rate up to $101 and requires flexibility to move between classrooms.

Ideal candidates are dependable, enjoy working with young children, and can handle varied daily needs. Schedule is on demand, Monday–Friday 6:45am–3:30pm, with opportunities for professional development and growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• EDU 119 or CDA preferred.
• Experience working with young children preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical, drug screening and TB test, and must submit to random drug screenings.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to actively supervise young children, move throughout classroom environments, and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
