Job summary

Nova Southwestern University is seeking Standardized Patients to support clinical skill training. You will portray patient characteristics, participate in simulated exams, and be evaluated on accuracy and communication.

This hourly, non-exempt role requires reliability, flexible scheduling, following instructions, and professional interaction with students and faculty, with occasional feedback and documentation duties.

Qualifications

• Must be flexible regarding scheduling and assignments.
• Must have the ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Must demonstrate the ability to be instructed, and consistently simulate a case scenario in an accurate, reliable, and professional manner.

Responsibilities

• Be dependable and punctual.
• Demonstrate flexibility and reliability with scheduling and assignments.
• Follow written and verbal instruction.
• Provide constructive feedback to students and fellow SPs.
• Work in a professional manner when interacting with students, faculty, supervisors, and peers.
• Be comfortable participating in repeated physical examinations and interventions.
• Be willing to wear a hospital gown with only undergarments underneath while on camera and/or observed live through an observation monitor.
• Simulate all aspects of case scenarios including providing history of current problem, demonstrating specific behaviors, and performing physical tests in a standardized, accurate and reliable manner.
• Accurately and consistently complete checklists.
• Accept ongoing feedback from facilitators and incorporate into case scenarios.
• Other duties as assigned
